Abstract: Organic pollutants in ErFeiShan landfill leachate were analyzed by using GC/MS spectrometry technique, the composition and distribution characteristics of organic matters in the leachate as well as the migration and transformation of organic pollutants were discussed. By combining the analysis of the organic components in the surface water and the groundwater around the landfill, the organic pollutions to the surrounding environment from leachate were traced. The results showed that various organic pollutants including phenols, amines, nitrogen heterocyclic, heterocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and other organic compounds which are not easily biodegradated were detected in the leachate, and the sorts and content of alcohols were the most. A few of environmental priority control pollutants were detected in leachate and surface water. The pollution to perched water was serious, there were 10 organic species in perched water, and 6 of them appeared in the leachate. The pollution to shallow ground water was also obvious. The pollution from leachate to confined groundwater was much slight, and the average relative content of organic pollutants was below 0.10. With the migration via groundwater flow, the types and relative content of organic matter decreased significantly, which can be seen as a strong evidence of groundwater pollution caused by landfill leachate.
