Abstract: The performance of a submerged double-shaft rotary anaerobic membrane bioreactor (SDR-AMBR) for treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater was investigated after the structure of this reactor was optimized. The results showed that above 92% COD was removed, while influent COD was in the range 4500-6000 mg·L-1, and COD volume loading reached 20kg·m-3·d-1. The concentration of sludge reached 20 g·L-1, and the ratio MLVSS : MLSS was between 0.45 and 0.72. The reactor and rotation speed of membrane module’s temperature had significant influence on membrane fouling.
