Abstract: As plants have some ability to absorb and accumulate SO2 in the environment,in this paper, the wet acid digestion - barium sulfate turbidimetry was used to determine the sulfur content in pine needles of 12 monitoring points in Jiaozuo City . Then using pollution index method, SO2 pollution in the atmosphere of Jiaozuo City was evaluated. The results show that, atmospheric SO2 pollution of Jiaozuo City is serious, sulfur content of the leaves under the Fengshanzhen was significantly higher than other places, followed by Forest Park and nearby the Bronze-horse. As can be seen in Jiaozuo City's main source of SO2 in the atmosphere is electric, chemical and non-metallic mineral manufacturing industry emissions, then, SO2 emissions from transport. Finally, based on air pollution in Jiaozuo City, this article proposes specific control measures.
