HF(High Frequency) channel is a kind of time-variant and fading channel, and there exists severe fading phenomena in the received end, where local fading extent can be up to 60dB.It is necessary to process sampled data with digital AGC to reduce its effects to channel equalization. Based on data format proposed in MIL-STD-110B, the paper analyze linear AGC, exponential AGC and logarithmic AGC, and proposes combined AGC which is united by exponential AGC and logarithmic AGC to optimize the contradiction from signal energy controlling and noise sensitivity. The paper farther analyzes AGC rate, and propose 32 samples AGC processing rate to optimize the equalization impact and algorithm complexity. Simulation validates AGC algorithm and AGC processing rate.
