Abstract: This paper introduces a kind of comprehensive test instrument LabVIEW based on PC software design method. This thesis introduces the software design for upper machine of instrument measurement system based on LabVIEW, it takes the LabVIEW software on PC as the upper machine, controls the under- detection units (four under-machines) detecting different functions by setting different instructions and parameters on interface communicated with the under-detection units, receives testing data from the under- detection units though the serial port for analysing, displays the test results on the LabVIEW interface, and generates the report automatically. The software design on LabVIEW upper machine is the key part of the automated testing system in thermal equipments, which determines the success or failure of the system and the efficiency of the system. This software design is well-designed to complete the required task, thus has a great value.
