Abstract: By analyzing the mechanism of pronunciation and using the fractal theory that is very effective to describe the characteristics of chaotic signal, which can highlight the features of pathological voice, the paper puts forward the fundamental frequency, jitter, box-counting dimension, intercept and other parameters as pathological characteristic vector sets for pathological voices recognition. And the paper uses the gaussian mixture model to discriminate the test set including 46 normal voices and 43 pathological voices. Experimental results show that the fractal theory is an effective analysis method and the fractal characteristics can differentiate normal and pathological voices effectively and obtain a good recognition ratio, 88.30%.It is very helpful to achieve the painless noninvasive clinical of voice inspection.
