Abstract: Specific to the existing difficulty of the position of fishing boats in distress in the area of fishing boat security and assistance, we propose a design of the fishing boat security and salvation information system. The electronic chart and integrated information processing and displaying system serve as the platform. This system acquires the dynamic and static information about the fishing boats automatically through the communication means, such as Inmarsat-C, AIS, GPS, GPRS, CDMA and so on. It can observe the distribution of the fishing boats and the rescue boats on the electronic chart, and send the salvation operation instructions to the rescue boats in time. Due to these functions, it can minimize or avoid the casualties and the economic loss of the fishing boats in distress to the utmost.
