Abstract: In order to improve the stiffness and reduce the weight of the main support structure, some problems about truss design were taken into account in this paper. A kind of space camera with 7m focal length and a relative aperture 1:6 was designed. A 4-layer multi- truss made of carbon fiber composite was used in the main support structure of the space camera. The angles between trusses, pole cross section and pole connector were designed in detailed, and then a main support structure was completed and the structural characteristic was analyzed. The results of engineering analysis indicated that the weight of the support is 318 kilograms, and the first order frequency is 80 Hz , which can meet the requirements of the design specifications.
