Abstract: In this paper, a B-spline wavelet finite element method for calculating the numerical solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear RLW equation with appropriate boundary and initial conditions is presented. A test problem has been studied to demonstrate the accuracy of the present method. The numerical results obtained by these ways for various values of viscosity have been compared with the exact solution of each problem and are found to be in good agreement with each other.
