Abstract: According to the characteristics of the flat geometry model, a novel multiresolution algorithm based on Empirical mode decomposition(EMD) is presented. First, the mesh is parameterized to the flat, and regularly sampled as an image. Then, the EMD method is implemented, and the image is decomposed into some layers(Intrinsic mode function, IMF); Finally, the processed image is inversely mapped into the geometry model. The result shows that it is an effective way of multiresolution analysis; Taking mesh denosing and enhancing for example, the validity and advantage is proved.
