Abstract: This paper deals with the core node architecture and packet format in slotted optical packet- switched networked. The relation between overhead and optical packet length, delay and one, invested capital of switching architecture and one is deducted respectively. The theoretical and mathematical analysis is made, which makes the basis for determining optical packet length from the point view of whole optical packet switching network.
