Abstract: The mechanism of partial discharge is the basic of PD detection, monitor and risk assessment. A PD computer simulation model which is based on a physical discharge model is created in this paper. The simulation results are conforming to the experiment results. The influence of dielectric surface and gas state of cavity to PD pattern can be interpreted using this model. The effect of supply voltage frequency to PD pattern also can be explanation by this model.
