Abstract: |
As the value regulated lead acid batteries (VRLABs) becoming the most widely used backup power in telecommunication industry, the performance detection of VRLABs is drawing more and more attention. The current regular maintenance of VRLABs is simply focuses on measuring the voltage and current during the charge and discharge processes, the temperature, etc. However, such measurements may not be capable to provide accurate knowledge to the battery performance. In this paper, the inner resistance is considered as the key indicator to the state of health (SOH) of VRLABs. Relationship between the inner instance and capacity performance of VRLABs is studied based on the extensive results of the aging test of VRLABs. Furthermore, a complete performance detection process for VRLABs is proposed to help the regular use and maintenance of VRLABS.
