Abstract: In order to satisfy a requirement that the precision machinery parts is processed at room temperature, in this study a method to deposit DLC film at room temperature had been explored by CVD. The deposition process of a-Si:H intermediate material and the interface structure of a-Si:H-DLC film were researched to improve the interface strength between substrate and DLC film. The interface strength and the friction characteristics of a-Si:H-DLC film deposited on the substrates of titanium alloy and iron were evaluated, and the relationship between contact stress and failure life was established, too.
