Abstract: Silicone rubber membranes including uncross-linking,cross-linking,catalytic cross-linking on which drop wise condensation heat transfer can occur has been made on the copper. It is found that cross-linking within limits is beneficial to the heat transfer, but catalytic cross-linking makes against. The optimum preparing condition is 4% casting membrane solution、0.2% cross-linking tetraethoxysilane. This membrane has been tested its heat flux was increased by 0.8 times compared that of fluted tube, and 1.5 times pure copper tube. And its condensation heat transfer coefficient is 2.5 times than fluted tube, and 3 times pure copper tube.
