Abstract: The article first introduces a mosaic and splicing method for CCD remote sensing images, then puts forward an algorithm of recursively expanding to neighboring pixels to seek the distance of every pixel in the merging region to the boundary. Every pixel’s merging weight can be calculated using a strategy based on the distance, then the matched and overlapped CCD remote sensing images can be merged. The experimental results indicate that the method can make the mosaic CCD images achieve a smooth transition of gray-scale and there is no obvious seams.
