Apocynum fiber is a kind of cellulose fiber, which have excellent characteristics such as good hygroscopicity, antimicrobial ,Permeability anti-UV, anti-static properties and so on. With garments made of Apocynum fiber has good wearability, apocynum textile occupies an important position in the whole clothing industry. The degumming process plays a very important role in the entire production process of Apocynum. Recently, apocynum fibers have attracted increasing attention in textiles due to its excellent physical, mechanical and properties to cater for the development of clothing industry with the functions of wear-comfort and health protection. The traditional chemical degumming process with hot alkaline solutions poses serious environmental threats along with high consumption of energy and such traditional degumming process of alkali boiling system rate of 30-40% rate can be obtained. In the present study, three sorts of degumming method were investigated and a combination of chemical and enzymic treatments was proposed for degumming of apocynum bast in textile industry.
