Abstract: Multimedia teaching, the symbol for teaching modernization, is an important part of Chinese pedagogical reforms. The rapid development of computer technology, wide application of network technology and the encouragement of national policy greatly promote the wide use of multimedia courseware in Chinese teaching. Through analyzing the universal problems currently existing in multimedia courseware teaching, such as unreasonable orientation, excessive amount of information, inadequate interactive exchange between teachers and students, unscientific integration with traditional teaching methods, poor courseware quality and so on, the paper finds out the reasons, shows the results caused by these problems and puts forward relative solutions and suggestions. The following is recommended: the multimedia courseware teaching should be accurately orientated, adopt advanced multimedia teaching system and suitable software, learn from traditional teaching media’s strong points to offset its weakness; the application of multimedia teaching courseware should consider its necessity, highlight the main part of teaching subject, enhance the interactivities between teachers and students, make the teaching method work for content and abide by the adequacy principle of teaching information; the teacher’s ability of making multimedia courseware should be strengthened; the shared courseware material library also should be established.
