Abstract

Under certain political and economic background Samaranch implemented a series of innovations for Olympic development. His reform focuses on Olympic commercialization, sport professionalization and women sport, which brings about both active and passive results. The essay deomonstrates Samaranch’s great contributions towards world Olympic movement. On the other hand it points out the negative results of Samaranch’s reformation with the intention to warn the people in the future.
