Issues concerning agriculture, countryside, and farmers have been the focus of the central government of China. Every year, such issues predominated in the central government’s No.1 Document. In October 2015, the fifth plenary session of the 16^th central committee of the Communist Party of China mapped out a plan to build a new socialist countryside and so a nationwide movement kicked off. In the paper the author attempts to explore the roles of clansman culture in the building of a new socialist countryside and the relevant ways.
