The Impact of ChatGPT on Ideological and Political Education: A Brief Discussion

ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of ChatGPT, its capabilities in natural language generation and comprehension have garnered widespread attention in the field of education. Ideological and political education is dedicated to cultivating students' civic qualities and values, while the potential of ChatGPT technology presents new opportunities for knowledge dissemination, guiding thinking, and personalized learning. However, it is crucial to recognize the biases and risks that technology might induce in education, such as information credibility and the value orientation of intelligent machines. Therefore, this paper proposes principles to be considered when integrating ChatGPT with the practice of ideological and political education and advocates for human-machine collaboration to compensate for the shortcomings of traditional ideological and political education, achieving a complementary synergy. Seizing the developmental opportunity of integrating both in the new era not only further advances the dual progress of technology and ideology but also aligns with the inherent requirements of integrating the spirit of the Party's 20th National Congress with innovative ideological and political education in the new era.
