ABSTRACT

Backpack type radioactive source seeking system refers to the method of placing a small gamma spectrometer in the backpack to detect the energy and intensity of gamma rays in the area and identify the type and content of radionuclides. It is usually used in the field of environmental radiation monitoring and radioactive source loss, as well as undertaking radioactive exploration tasks. In the radiation environment monitoring, the portable backpack type source finding system is mainly used to search for radioactive substances, analyze and extract information such as statistical dose rate, nuclide identification, and count rate. As the backpack type radioactive source finding system has less research and application, and there are few relevant documents, and according to various factors during outdoor radioactive environment detection, the system has the function of ray intensity indication, ray type classification indication, electric quantity display, over range overload indication, data storage, sound and light alarm, geographical information, and Geiger counting for high-energy areas. In the energy range of 30 keV - 3 MeV, the energy resolution is ≤8.0%. Finally, Cs-137 is used to test the demand seeking system, and the results show that the system is stable and reliable.
