ABSTRACT

In a nation, citizens do not perceive a political party in the same way. Some view it negatively, whereas others hold positive attitudes towards it. It is the same case for UPRONA political party in Burundi, in central Africa. This research paper has been written around a problem which is summarized in this initial question: “How do Ngozi town elites perceive UPRONA political party in 2021?” This question was put because the researcher had the aim of discovering the extent to which those elites appreciate UPRONA political party in 2021. In order to reach that target, an answer was given to that initial question by resorting to the quantitative methodology oriented towards the formulation of a closed questionnaire, which was distributed to the respondents, and which resulted in the obtaining of the following overall result in the framework of this investigation: In 2021, the elites of Ngozi town have a negative perception towards UPRONA political party at the rate of 73%, whereas they hold positive attitudes towards that same political party at the rate of 27%.
