ABSTRACT

It is of great significance to integrate course ideological and political education in college English classrooms. For the institutions featuring science and technology in particular, how to clarify the understanding of the course and implement it in practice, so as to cultivate socialist builders and successors with the scientific spirit, deeper love for our country and international vision, is an important way to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtues in higher education. This article, based on the teaching reforms of the “Advanced Class” in college English course in East China University of Science and Technology, explores the effective methods of providing ideological and political education in English study classes for top students in colleges of science and technology, focusing on the teaching objectives, content, methods, and staff. This article is intended to offer valuable experience for college English teaching reforms with a view to ideological and political education.
