Special Issue on
High Performance Structural Materials
High performance structural materials as one of the most competitive high-tech new materials are important material basis for supporting the developments of aerospace, transportation, electronic information, energy and power, and national major infrastructure projects. The research and development on structural materials with properties of high specific strength, high specific rigidity, high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance is the main development direction of new generation of high performance structural materials.
This Special Issue of Materials Sciences and Applications focuses on the theoretical and experimental studies related to the high performance structural materials as influenced by their structural design, preparation methods, microstructure, physical or chemical properties, mechanical properties, and application conditions and operating environment.
Typical areas of interest include:
-
Metallic engineering structural materials (such as steel, rare metal new materials, high temperature
alloy and high performance alloy)
-
Advanced ceramic materials (such as functional ceramics and high temperature structural
ceramics)
-
New polymer structural materials (such as special engineering plastics, organosilicon materials,
organic fluorine materials, high performance fibers, high performance synthetic rubbers and high
performance resins)
-
Advanced composite materials (such as polymer (resin) matrix
composites, metal matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites and carbon/carbon composites)
Authors should read over the journal’s Author’s Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.
