Special Issue on Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary
Artery Disease (CAD), also known as ischemic heart disease, is a condition
characterized by the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries due to the
buildup of cholesterol and fatty deposits (plaques) on the artery walls. This
process, known as atherosclerosis, reduces blood flow to the heart muscle,
leading to heart-related symptoms like chest pain (angina), shortness of
breath, or, in severe cases, heart attacks. Risk factors include high blood
pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, obesity, and a sedentary
lifestyle. Prevention and treatment strategies encompass lifestyle
modifications, medications to manage symptoms and risk factors, and surgical
interventions like angioplasty or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). CAD
is a leading cause of death globally, emphasizing the importance of
cardiovascular health awareness and management.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Coronary Artery Disease. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Epidemiology of coronary artery disease
-
Pathophysiology of atherosclerosis
-
Risk factors and prevention
-
Diagnostic imaging and techniques
-
Pharmacological treatments
-
Interventional cardiology
-
Coronary artery bypass grafting
-
Antiplatelet therapy
-
CAD and myocardial infarction
-
Lifestyle modifications and rehabilitation
-
Genetic and molecular determinants
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic
copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Coronary Artery Disease” should be chosen during your submission.
