Special Issue on Addiction

This special issue is a forum for the analysis of substance dependence and behavioral addiction. It is particularly focused on theoretical study and treatment in addictions. Issues relating to these problems can included, but are not limited to, drug abuse, exercise addiction, food addiction, sexual addiction, computer addiction and gambling. The view that addiction is a choice that individuals make has led to punitive responses to physiological dependence that punish and deter use. Neuroscience research on addiction is challenging normal responses to addiction by suggesting that it is a brain disease that drives individuals to substance dependence. It also promises to lead to more therapeutic responses to addiction and more effective technologies to prevent, counter, or treat it. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of addiction.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring addiction. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Addiction
• Alcohol abuse and dependence
• Drug abuse and dependence
• Tobacco use and dependence
• Substance dependence
• Therapeutic applications

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
