Special Issue on Bacillus

This special issue on Bacillus will be focusing on the latest development in being the source of a natural antibiotic protein which is resistant to some insect pests and using as model organism. Bacillus is a genus of Gram-positive, rod-shaped bacteria and a member of the phylum Firmicutes. Bacillus species can be obligate aerobes or facultative anaerobes, and test positive for the enzyme catalase. Ubiquitous in nature, Bacillus includes both free-living and pathogenic species. Under stressful environmental conditions, the cells produce oval endospores that can stay dormant for extended periods. These characteristics originally defined the genus, but not all such species are closely related, and many have been moved to other genera. Bacillus species have varied biological characteristics, using genetic breeding and other biological engineering, these species can be widely applied in industrial and agricultural production. As one of the most important research fields of microbiology research, bacillus is of great attractions to researchers.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring bacillus. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Gram-positive bacteria
  • Secrete enzymes
  • Barnase
  • Insect pathogen
  • Rod-shape bacteria
  • Free-living bacteria

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the Special Issue’’ under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Bacillus” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:
