Special Issue on Phytochemicals Research

Phytochemicals are the chemical compounds that occur naturally in plants, and the contents of these phytochemicals are very less in the plants. Some of them are responsible for color and other organoleptic properties, such as the deep purple of blueberries and the smell of garlic. The term is generally used to refer to those chemicals that may have biological significance, for example antioxidants, disease resistance, regulate the immune systems, but are not established as essential nutrients. But many plants extracts have been shown to exert biological activity in vitro and in vivo, and scientists estimatethat there may be as many as 10,000 different phytochemicals having the potential to affect diseases such as cancer, stroke or metabolic syndrome. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of phytochemicals pesearch.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore phytochemicals research.

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the Special Issue" under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Phytochemicals Research” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:

Submission Deadline

February 20th, 2014

Publication Date

April 2014
