Special Issue on Application and Development of Surfactants

Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension of a liquid, the interfacial tension between two liquids, or that between a liquid and a solid. Surfactant is a new type of chemical with the development of petrochemical industry from the Nineteen Fifties. Surfactant is an important fine chemical product, which enjoys the laudatory name of the “industrial monosodium glutamate”. It permeates nearly all technical and economic departments. Nowadays the production of the surfactant exceeds ten thousand kinds of varieties. With the development of world economy and pioneering field of science and technology，surfactants are experiencing a period of rapid growth. The applications of surfactants involve daily chemical industry, oil, agriculture, food, health, environment, new material and other technical departments. Surfactants may act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, dispersants and so on. Surfactants bring great convenience to people's life and industrial and agricultural production, but it also brings pollution to the environment. Therefore, the study on the development trend of the surfactant has a very important role and significance to the surfactant industry and even the whole industry of the world.

In this special issue, manuscripts concerning the new trends for the application and development of surfactants in daily chemical industry are very welcome. Topics  include but are not limited to the following fields:

• Qualitative methods of surfactants
• Method of separation of surfactant
• Study on the compatibility of different Surfactants
• Degradation of daily chemical surfactant
• Reactive surfactant
• The modification of traditional surfactant

• The development of green surfactants and mild surfactants
• Chiral surfactants

In this special issue, we are going to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore the application and development of surfactants.

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors' Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
