Special Issue on Cell Mechanics
Cell Mechanics is a
sub-field of biophysics that focuses on the mechanical properties and behavior
of living cells and how it relates to cell function. Cells communicate with
each other through chemical and physical signals which are involved in a range
of process from embryogenesis and wound healing to pathological conditions such
as cancerous invasion. Interdisciplinary research combining modern molecular
biology with advanced cell mechanical characterization techniques now paves the
way for furthering our fundamental understanding of cell mechanics and its role
in development, physiology, and disease.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on
exploring Cell Mechanics. Potential topics include, but are not
limited to:
-
Cytoskeleton
-
Cell pressure
-
Mechanical
properties of cells
-
Mechanics and
cell functions
-
Mechanical
input and output of cells
-
Cell mechanical characterization techniques
-
Cell adhesion
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue - Cell
Mechanics”
should be chosen during your submission.
