Special Issue on Environmental Education

Environmental education refers to organized efforts to teach how natural environments function, and particularly, how human beings can manage behavior and ecosystems to live sustainably, so that people can have a better understanding of the world around them and know how to take care of it properly so that the world can be a better place. It is a multi-disciplinary field integrating disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science, atmospheric science, mathematics, and geography. The term often implies education within the school system, from primary to post-secondary. However, it sometimes includes all efforts to educate the public and other audiences, including print materials, websites, media campaigns, etc..

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on environmental education. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Public environmental awareness
  • Nature education and protection
  • Education for sustainable development
  • Outdoor education
  • Experiential education
  • Garden-based learning
  • Citizen science and environmental concerns

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Environmental Education” should be chosen during your submission.
