Special Issue on Exotic Species

Humans have spread non-native animals and plants around the world and have done so at an unprecedented rate in the last century. The establishment and spread of exotic species are a major threat to worldwide biodiversity. There are well-documented examples of invading species that degrade human health and wealth, alter the structure and functioning of otherwise undisturbed ecosystems, and/or threaten native biological diversity. In some instances the potential for being beneficial or detrimental in the long run remains unknown. The effects of exotic species on natural environments have gained much scrutiny from scientists, governments, farmers and others.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring Exotic Species. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Introduced species (plants, animals, fungi or microorganisms)
  • Invasive exotic diseases
  • Impact of introduced species
  • Control of introduced species
  • Introduced species policy

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue –Exotic Species” should be chosen during your submission.
