Special Issue on Hydrological Hazards Research

Hydrological disasters are defined as events caused by deviations in the normal water cycle. The main hydrological hazards that seem to occur more often are those that provide the most severe effect upon people and because 60% of the world's population live within 60km of the coast, hydrological hazards provide a greater threat than any other hazards. The main hydrological hazards are river and coastal flooding and tsunamis, but other hazards such as tropical cyclones, monsoon s and jökulhlaups are all inter-related. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of hydrological hazards research.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore hydrological hazards research. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Flood
  • Tsunamis
  • Water disasters
  • The causes of hydrological hazards
  • Prevention of hydrological disasters
  • The influence of hydrological disasters to the environment

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Hydrological Hazards Research” should be selected during your submission.
