Special Issue on Invasion Ecology

An invasive species is a plant, fungus, or animal species that is not native to a specific location (an introduced species), and which has a tendency to spread to a degree believed to cause damage to the environment, human economy or human health. In ecosystems, the amount of available resources and the extent to which those resources are used by organisms determines the effects of additional species on the ecosystem. In stable ecosystems, equilibrium exists in the use of available resources. These mechanisms describe a situation in which the ecosystem has suffered a disturbance, which changes the fundamental nature of the ecosystem. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academics all over the world to promote, share and discuss various new issues and developments in modern invasion ecology.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore invasion ecology. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Invasive species
• Impact of invasive species on the ecosystems 
• Traits of invaded ecosystems
• Impact of invasive species on biodiversity
• The consequences of ecological invasion

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Invasion Ecology” should be selected during your submission.
