Special Issue on Air Pollution and Health Research

It is important to remember that; air pollution is a mixture of many agents, can come from many sources, and varies depending on weather conditions. While many pollutants can affect our health, ozone and particulate matter  have a major impact on the public’s health. Ozone can cause chest discomfort, decreases in lung function, and airway inflammation. People with asthma can develop breathing problems after exposure to ozone. Particulate matter (PM) also can cause respiratory problems, and has been shown to increase the risk of heart problems in older people, especially those with a prior history of heart disease. Exposures to both ozone and PM have been shown to increase the risk of premature death.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore air pollution and health research. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Air quality and climate change interactions
  • Air quality impact
  • Health and welfare effects associated with air pollution
  • Indoor air pollution
  • Air pollutant
  • The health effects of air pollution

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Air Pollution and Health Research” should be selected during your submission.
