Special Issue on Ecological and Sustainable Development

Ecological sustainability refers to the capacity of the biosphere to meet the needs of the present generation, without hindering future generations from being able to meet their needs. This means using our natural resources wisely in the short-term so that these resources are available in the long-term. Ecological sustainability relies on the fact that humans have the ability to exhaust (overuse) our natural resources, leaving nothing but polluted water and infertile soil for future generations. Ecological sustainability is the belief that all humans must use resources wisely and efficiently so that these resources never become exhausted or overpolluted.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore ecological and sustainable development. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Ecosystem manipulation and disruption
  • Renewable resource harvesting
  • Biogeochemical cycles and life-support systems
  • Genetic diversity
  • The management of ecosystem health
  • Sustainable use of species and ecosystems

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Ecological and Sustainable Development” should be selected during your submission.
