Environmental Microbiology is the study of microbial interactions and microbial processes in the environment. Microbes are the organisms which are ubiquitous on the earth. Environmental Microbiology is a field that has been in existence since scientists began to study life at the microbial level.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Environmental Microbiology. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Ecology of contaminated environments
-
Microbe-plant interactions
-
Interactions with macroorganisms
-
Population biology of microorganisms
-
Microbial community genetics and evolutionary processes
-
(Global) element cycles and biogeochemical processes
-
Microbial life in extreme and unusual environments
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Environmental Microbiology” should be selected during your submission.
