Special Issue on Gene Expression and Regulation

Gene expression is the process by which information from a gene gives rise to the phenotypein of organisms. It generally consists of transcription, RNA processing, RNA export and translation. Regulation of gene expression refers to the control of the amount and timing of appearance of the functional product of a gene, which is vital to allow a cell to produce the gene products it needs and give cells the flexibility to adapt to a variable environment, external signals and damages. As gene expression and regulation plays an important role in all kinds of organisms, further research on it seems significant and valuable.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring gene expression and regulation. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Gene expression process
    • Features and functions of mRNA, rRNA and tRNA
    • Important elements (enzymes, exon, enhancer, etc.)
    • Constitutive, housekeeping and inducible gene
    • Regulation of gene expression
    • Biochemical technology used in research
    • Limitations and problems

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Gene Expression and Regulation” should be chosen during your submission.

    According to the following timetable:

    Submission Deadline

    February 25th, 2015

    Publication Date

    April 2015
