Special Issue on Labor and Employment

Wage labor is the socioeconomic relationship between a worker and an employer, where the worker sells their labor under a formal or informal employment contract. These transactions usually occur in a labor market where wages are market determined. Rising remuneration of labor can stimulate domestic demand, which is beneficial to employment and the realization of labor market equilibrium. For most of us, there is no aspect of economics more important than the study of employment, wages and the conditions of work—for the simple reason that most of us participate in the economy as workers or plan to participate that way in the future.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring labor and employment. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Labor economics and employment policy
    • Models of the employment relationship
    • Cross-employment and multi-employment
    • Graduate employment and youth employment
    • Equal opportunity employment
    • Labor market equilibrium
    • Output and employment fluctuations
