Special Issue on Influenza Research

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that seasonal influenza is responsible for an average of more than 20,000 deaths annually. As an infectious disease of birds and mammals caused by RNA virus, influenza transmits through the air by creating aerosols containing the virus. The most common symptoms are chills, fever and headache, so it is often confused with common cold and delay the treatment. Since influenza virus evolves rapidly and causes mass mortality, further study on influenza seems to be severe but meaningful to researchers.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring influenza research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Types of influenza
  • Signs and symptoms of influenza
  • Causes and mechanism of influenza
  • Influenza virus
  • Transmission routes and vectors
  • Diagnosis of influenza
  • Vaccine and antiviral drugs of influenza
  • Prevention and prognosis of influenza
  • Cases of influenza

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Influenza Research” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:

Submission Deadline
