Special Issue on Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen Therapy is the administration of oxygen as a medical intervention. In human bodies, oxygen is essential for cell metabolism, and in turn, tissue oxygenation is essential for all normal physiological functions. High blood and tissue levels of oxygen can be helpful or damage, depending on circumstances and oxygen therapy should be used to benefit the patient by increasing the supply of oxygen to the lungs and thereby increasing the availability of oxygen to the body tissues, especially when the patient is suffering from hypoxia. Oxygen is used as a medical treatment in both chronic and acute cases, and can be used in hospital, pre-hospital or entirely out of hospital. As one of the most important research fields of human life, oxygen therapy is of great attractions to researchers.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring oxygen therapy. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Oxygen therapy use in chronic and acute conditions
• Filtered oxygen masks
• Negative effects of oxygen therapy
• Fire risk of oxygen therapy
• Oxygen therapy while on aircraft
• Supplemental oxygen and high flow oxygen delivery
• Storage and sources of oxygen

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
