Special Issue on Mitigation and Adaptation
Strategies for Climate Change
Mitigation involves the reduction in emissions of any greenhouse gases
that contribute to climate change. Carbon dioxide is generally used as the base
case to which all other gases are compared, as is the case with carbon offset
programmes. However, methane, for example, contributes to climate change much
more per molecule than carbon dioxide. Adaptation involves responding to the
changes induced as a result of climate change. Adaptation can be reactive or
anticipatory. Where possible, anticipatory actions will provide the most
cost-effective response to reduce risk. Impact assessment can play an important
role in identifying both potential contributions to greenhouse gas emissions
and possible adaptation responses to climate change. The goal of this special
issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the
world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in
this area of Mitigation and Adaptation
Strategies for Climate Change.
In this special
issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit
original research and review articles on exploring Mitigation and Adaptation
Strategies for Climate Change. Potential topics include, but
are not limited to:
-
Analysis methods and tools for climate change risks
-
Greater use of renewable energy
-
Efficient means of transport implementation
-
More secure facility locations and infrastructures
-
Landscape restoration (natural landscape) and reforestation
-
Flexible and diverse cultivation to be prepared for natural
catastrophes
-
Research and development on possible catastrophes, temperature
behavior, etc
-
Preventive and precautionary measures
-
Assessment methods and safety assessment of climate change mitigation
technologies
-
Impacts of climate change on key areas and technology needs
-
Challenges and opportunities to mitigate climate change
Authors should read
over the journal’s For Authors carefully before
submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their
complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly specify the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for
Climate Change” should be selected during your
submission.
