Special Issue on Mathematical Optimization and Applications
In
mathematics, computer science and operations research, mathematical
optimization is the selection of a
best element from some set of available alternatives. In the simplest case, an
optimization problem consists of maximizing or minimizing a real function by
systematically choosing input values from within an allowed set and computing
the value of the function. The generalization of optimization theory and
techniques to other formulations constitutes a large area of applied
mathematics. More generally, optimization includes finding "best
available" values of some objective function given a defined domain (or
input), including a variety of different types of objective functions and
different types of domains.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Mathematical Optimization and Applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Multi-objective optimization
-
Computational optimization techniques
-
Optimization algorithms
-
Iterative methods and global convergence
-
Feasibility problem
-
Global and local optimization
-
Maximization, minimization and best solutions
-
Operational efficiency and best performance
-
Modelling and methods
-
Optimal control and optimization
-
Applications in economics, engineering and computer
science
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Mathematical
Optimization and Applications” should be chosen during your submission.
