Special Issue on Soil Organic Carbon

Soil organic carbon is the main component of soil organic matter. Soil organic carbon is divided into living soil biota and dead biological substance derived from biomass. Soil organic carbon affects plant growth as both a source of energy and a trigger for nutrient availability through mineralization. As an indicator of soil health, soil organic carbon is critical to food production, mitigation and adaptation to climate change and the achievement of sustainable development goals. Human activities, such as use of fire, tillage and drainage have caused massive losses of soil organic carbon.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring soil organic carbon. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Soil organic carbon stocks
  • Soil organic carbon sequestration
  • Soil organic carbon pools
  • Soil organic carbon mineralization
  • Soil organic carbon stabilization
  • Soil organic carbon and climate

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Soil Organic Carbon” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:

Submission Deadline

May 16th, 2018

Publication Date
