ABSTRACT: The problem this study will address is the existence of consensual relationship between learners and their instructors. The purpose of this phenomenology is to understand lived experiences in relation to consensual relationship between ten teachers and ten students of XXX University. It uses phenomenological analysis to explore the lived experiences of informants. Qualitative data were collected through the use of interview protocols collected at a conducive place for informants of their selection. Some themes developed were fear, physical attraction, transference and countertransference. The study points to the natural existence of consensual relationship in the academe and learners.
