Special Issue on GIS and Remote Sensing

Remote sensing allows us to capture, visualize, and analyze objects and features on the Earth’s surface without being there. GIS is a methodology for handling all of the geographic data. The two disciplines are often used together to carry out large scale analyses of the Earth's surface and, at the same time, provide increasingly detailed knowledge on many planetary variables and improve our understanding of its functioning. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of GIS and Remote Sensing.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring GIS and Remote Sensing. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Synthetic aperture radar
  • Light detection and ranging
  • Sound navigation ranging
  • Radiometers and spectrometers
  • Arctic surveillance
  • Passive sensors
  • Active sensors
  • Satellite sensors
  • Lidar sensors
  • Earth observation
  • Spatial resolution
  • Climate change monitoring
  • Navigating with global positioning systems

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - GIS and Remote Sensing” should be selected during your submission.
