Abstract: Legal education no longer exists exclusively for law students who wish to enter the legal profession. Currently, law components are found in other programmes such as marketing, management, and accounting. However, business students at sub-degree levels often find studying law difficult and challenging. Literature suggests that a combination of traditional lecture-based learning and problem-based learning tutorials could improve student learning experiences and performance. This action research plans, implements, and evaluates the extent to which the combination of lecture-based learning and problem-based learning tutorials (i.e., dual teaching model) could be used as an effective teaching strategy in addressing the difficulty of students in learning law, thus improving relevant learning outcomes. This study involves approximately 250 students enrolled in Business Law in the academic year 2012–2013. Data will be collected through a survey and focus group interviews. Only the first basic cycle of action research will be addressed in this project because of time and resource constraints.
