Abstract: Creativity is considered the mental and social process of generating ideas, concepts, and associations. According to Bingalli (2007) concept generation is critical to the design process because it provides the designer with the necessary tools to picture the qualities of the desired design through the use of words or images. The design concept phase represents the beginning of the innovative process and as design concepts emerge they are shaped by the individual touch or creative expression of the designer. The paper discusses research done at University of Botswana, with 35 students from all years involved. Similar researches were done at several places in past (e.g. Brazil), but we were trying not only to establish students’ creativity level, but also to improve our learning environment and curriculum. The Paper addresses our intentions, research hypothesys, basic principles, methodology, preliminary and final results, and conclusion.
