Abstract: Internet-based electronic learning (E-learning) as an alternative education form has both created an innovative learning environment and provided learners with an exceptional opportunity to interact with others. Individual acceptance and use of Information Technology (IT) have been considered indentifying the success of e-learning systems. The purpose of this study is to take Technology Acceptance Model as a foundation and include perceived convenience and the teacher’s role as new external factors in predicting students’ perceptions of the acceptance and use of Moodle, an open source e-learning system. A total of 47 college students participated in this research. The results indicated that both perceived convenience and perceived ease of use had direct effects on perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use, perceived convenience, and perceived usefulness had significantly positive impacts on attitude toward using Moodle. The teacher’s role did not have positive influences on perceived usefulness and attitude toward using Moodle. Continuance intention to use Moodle was directly influenced by attitude toward using Moodle. Several practical theoretical implications of the present study are offered at the end of paper.
